Ronald John “Ron” Zuberbier

Ronald John “Ron” Zuberbier, 90, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, in Viking Manor, Ulen, MN.

Ron was born on December 8, 1932, to Roy and Grace (Craven) Zuberbier in Roseau, MN,. He grew up in Roseau where he attended and graduated from high school. After high school, he joined the military, serving his country with the Army being stationed in Korea. After his return, he moved to Chicago where he worked as an iron worker, and later as a factory foreman. In Chicago, he met Dorothy and they were united in marriage in 1959. They raised a family before she passed away in 1976. Ron retired and moved to Ponsford, MN, where he enjoyed his retirement. He later moved into Lincoln Park Assisted Living where he met Margie and they were married in May of 2016. Margie passed away in 2020.

Ron enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go fishing, boating, and camping in the summer months and snowmobiling in the winter months.

Ron is survived by his children, Roger (Colleen) Zuberbier, Linda Zuberbier, Barbara (Tim) Gallagher, Ann Zuberbier, and Rod Zuberbier; grandchildren, Kevin Zuberbier and Erin (Andrea) Gallagher; sister, Doris Hixon; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wives, Dorothy and Margie; son, Robert; and siblings, Dave and Betty.
