Rosa Martinez

Rosa Martinez, 89, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Ecumen Evergreens of Moorhead. Rosa was born June 8, 1932, to Manuel and Juanita (Mancha) Trevino. She grew up in Texas and on January 8, 1950, Rosa married Tony Martinez. Together they started a family and in 1970, moved to Minnesota. Over the years, Rosa enjoyed her their busy home and raising their 11 children. in her spare time, she also enjoyed crocheting, sewing and bingo in her later years. Most of all however, time with her family meant the most. She will be dearly missed.

Rosa is survived by her children, Tony Martinez, Jr., Mae (Oscar) Archila, Jesse (Connie) Martinez, Alma (Rod) Brasel, Harry (Becky) Martinez, George (Kae) Martinez, Merlinda (Dan) Wendt, James Martinez, Robert (Lisa) Martinez, and Veronica (Kevin) Murray; 35 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Martinez.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 12, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
