Obituary

Scott “Si” Williams, 75, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at HIA Heather’s House in Fargo.

Si was born on September 7, 1950, in Edina, Minnesota, to Milton “Tom” and Judy (Ireland) Williams. He grew up in Fargo, where he attended school and graduated from Fargo South High School. Following graduation, he attended the University of North Dakota. After his freshman year, Si and his close friend Jerry Gaffaney spent six weeks traveling through Europe, backpacking across Norway, France, and Italy—an adventure he treasured for the rest of his life.

He continued his education at Arizona State University, where he earned several degrees, including a Master’s in Reading. Si embraced his time in Arizona, especially his work teaching reading to Native American children on a reservation, an experience that reflected his compassion and dedication to others.

Si earned his real estate license in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1980 and later obtained his Master Residential Appraiser license in San Antonio, Texas, in 1986. He returned to the Fargo area in the early 1990s, where he worked alongside his father, Tom. Si took great pride in his work in real estate and in the meaningful relationships he built with colleagues, clients, and friends. He was known as a thoughtful and fair landlord, with many tenant relationships growing into lasting friendships built on mutual respect.

Si enjoyed a life filled with simple joys and deep passions. He loved reading, spending time at Leaf Lake, swimming, traveling, golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, and listening to jazz music. Above all, he cherished time with his grandchildren and family. He will be remembered for his selfless nature, his humor, his gift for storytelling, and the love he extended so freely to those around him.

Si is survived by his loving partner, Michelle, and her sons, Andy and Jordan Magrum; his five grandchildren, Ethan, Sean, Teagan, Rayah, and Huck; his brother, Kelly (Annell) Williams; sister-in-law, Jane Williams; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepson, Jake; his parents, Tom and Judy Williams; his sister, Elizabeth Williams; and his brother, Glenn “Duffy” Williams.
