Shelley K. Poehls, 68, of Sabin, MN, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Shelley Kay Arntson was born to Edwin and Betty (Peterson) Arntson in Pelican Rapids, MN, on November 22, 1951. She grew up there and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1969 and went on to attend beauty school.

Shelley married Roger Poehls on December 1, 1973 in Pelican Rapids and they made their home in Sabin, MN. She was in childcare for many years before accepting a position with Wal-Mart where she spent the next 25 years until her retirement.

Shelley spent many years on Sabin’s Rescue Squad and served on the City Council. She also started the Sabin youth softball program. Shelley enjoyed visiting lake country and loved spending time with family and friends.

Shelley is survived by her husband; son, Shawn (Jennifer), and their children, Gunnar and Skylar, North Pole, AK, and daughter, Christina “Tina” (Chad Conzemius) and her daughter, Meadow, Mapleton, ND; siblings, Leroy Arntson, California, LeDelle (Paula) Arntson, Eagle River, AK, Shanda (Dewey) Webber, Pine, CO, LeWayne “Bucky” (Roxanne) Arntson, Park Rapids, MN, Lee Arntson, Park Rapids, MN, Sherry Golden, Deer Park, WI, Lenny (Debbie) Arntson, Zanesville, OH; brothers-in-law, Loren (Sandy) Poehls, Sabin, MN, Jerry (Kim) Poehls, Maricopa, AZ, Donald Poehls, Fargo, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shalene Thompson; brother-in-law, Dave Golden and sister-in-law, Diane Poehls.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
