Sherri Lynn Lewis, 57, of Moorhead, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at HIA Heather’s House, Fargo, ND after battling an aggressive form of Alzheimer’s.

Sherri was born August 22, 1968, in Minot, ND to Walter and Patricia (Putney) Green. She grew up in Sawyer, ND and attended grade school there before attending Minot High School.

In 2004, Sherri moved to Bismarck, ND and later Buffalo, MN. She dedicated her career to Perkins Family Restaurant where she spent a lifetime serving others – not just meals, but kindness, laughter, and friendship. After her diagnosis she moved to Moorhead, MN to be closer to her daughter, Jessica.

Sherri had a spark about her that filled every room she walked into. She absolutely loved going bowling. Every time it was her turn, her face would light up with pure excitement — celebrating each roll like she had just won the whole game. She loved relaxing in the pool, enjoying the fresh air and soaking up the sun.

Sherri found her greatest joy surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She would chase them around, laugh until she couldn’t catch her breath, and even hop on the swing set, just to relive that carefree childhood feeling. She cherished time with her friends, and traveling on vacations that brought laughter, adventure, and treasured memories.

Even as the disease rapidly progressed, some things never changed. Her love for music stayed alive. She would still light up whenever one of her favorite songs began to play - dancing around the room, clapping her hands, laughing, and joking with those she loved. In those moments you could see her, the same mom, the same grandma, the same joy, the same person everyone loved dearly.

Sherri is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Bryan Hensel) Mortenson; grandchildren, Berkleigh, Brexsten, Christian and Chay Duncan, Kabryan, Alex, Maylie, and Axel; and great-grandchildren, Joaquin and Haizley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lisa Azure; brother, Dennis Green; grandson, Adrian James Duncan; and grandma, Eleanor Putney.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
