Stephanie M. Wegner, 71, of Fargo, ND, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at HIA Hospice-Heather’s House, in Fargo, ND.

Stephanie Margaret Kulesza was born in Grand Forks, ND, on November 10, 1954, to John and Grace (Schymtzik) Kulesza. She grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School in 1972. Stephanie’s strong work ethic began in high school when her first job was working for Charlie’s Bakery in Grand Forks. She attended Mayville State University and obtained an associate’s degree in office administration and secretarial studies.

Stephanie was united in marriage to Christopher Wegner on August 4, 1984, in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Dickinson, ND until 1987 when they moved to Flagstaff, AZ, where their son, Thomas, was born in 1988. They moved to Nevada and then returned home to Fargo in 1991. Stephanie began working for NDSU first as an administrative assistant and was later promoted to an office administrator. She retired from NDSU in 2019 and for the next 5 years she enjoyed volunteering for Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Stephanie worked exceptionally hard her entire life, and she will be remembered as a fiercely independent, free spirit. She is survived by her son, Thomas Wegner, of Fargo, and her sisters, Carol Kulesza, of Waltham, MA and Katherine (Michael) Klemisch, of Grand Forks, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Conrad Kulesza and her husband, Christopher Wegner.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Moorhead.
