Susanne R. Silbernagel

Susanne Rae (Orth) Silbernagel of Fargo passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Sanford Hospital from complications related to a brain aneurysm.

Susanne was born to Ruben and Cecelia (Thomas) Orth on May 6, 1955. She was raised in Fargo and graduated from North High School in 1973. She attended MState and received a degree in accounting. On August 27, 1977, she married Steven P. Silbernagel of Moorhead at Nativity Catholic Church in Fargo. They resided and raised their two children Stephanie Ann and Steven Jr. in Fargo until 1993 when they moved to Fort Myers, FL to escape the North Dakota winters. After the passing of her husband Steven Sr., Susanne relocated back to North Dakota to be closer to family and friends. Throughout the years she was employed as a bookkeeper for various companies and in recent years she has worked as an independent bookkeeper. During her life, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, bowling, cross-stitching, playing bingo and quilting. She was an active member of the FM Quilters holding several committee and board positions throughout the years. 

Susanne was preceded in death by her husband Steven Silbernagel Sr. and her parents Ruben and Cecelia Orth. She will be greatly missed by her children Stephanie (David) Hamiga of Fargo, ND and Steven Jr. of Fort Myers, Fl, her six grandchildren Annabelle Ketterl, Jeffrey “Wally” Ketterl Jr. both of Fargo, ND, Mackenzie, Isabella, Steven III and Paizley Silbernagel all of Lehigh Acres, FL, her four bonus grandchildren Lauren Everett, Ella Hamiga, both of Fargo, ND, McKenna Hamiga of Carlsbad, CA, Spencer (Gloria) Hamiga and bonus great-grandchild “Lil” Spencer of Sisters, OR, her siblings Debroah Walling of Barnesville, MN, Margaret (Steve) Lattimore of Fargo, ND, Thomas Orth of Laurie, MO, Ruben “Jay” (Margaret) Orth of Dickinson, ND, Mary (Jerry) Belcourt of Fargo, ND, Richard (Terri) Orth of Cape Coral, FL, Melissa (Paul) Kvislen of Kindred, ND and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Memorial Services will be held Friday December 13, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church located at 2711 7th Street E. West Fargo, ND. A luncheon reception will follow the service. Burial at a later date.
