Tamara J. Putnam, 67, of Moorhead, MN passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Tamara was born on March 21, 1959, in San Antonio, TX to Raymond and Joyce (Putnam) Husen. She grew up in Moorhead, but the family moved to Montevideo, MN during her senior year, where she graduated from Montevideo High School in 1977. That summer she was voted Montevideo Fiesta Queen! Tamara went on to attend St. Cloud State University for two years before moving back to Moorhead and completing her business degree from Concordia College, with a minor in music.

Tamara accepted a position with Northwest Airlines and loved to travel. She later worked for Carlson Corporation in Minneapolis, MN as a travel manager before taking a job with RDO and later worked for North Dakota State University.

Tamara loved singing and playing piano and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. She enjoyed baking and was very crafty.

She is survived by two sons, Justin Gordon and James Putnam; father, Raymond Husen; siblings, Andrea Husen, Kevin (Tammy) Husen, Kathy (Jeff) Botnen; and Eric (Amy) Husen, her beloved cat, Shuandai; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce; and grandparents, Ethel and Charles Putnam, and Agnes and Carl Husen.

A funeral service with Livestream will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at St. John Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Livestream will be available here on St. John Lutheran Church Facebook page.

Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
