Terry D. Cummings

Terry D. Cummings, 62, of Glyndon, MN, passed away at home on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

Terry was born to Ronald and Ethel (Norman) Cummings May 27, 1960. He grew up and attended school in Glyndon, MN, and graduated from Glyndon-Felton High School in 1978. in 1981 he married Shelley Hatfield and the couple made their home in Grand Forks, ND for the first few years, moving back to Fargo in 1984. Terry worked for the Muffler Man in Moorhead for several years. in 1991, the family moved to Glyndon, returning to the town Terry loved so much. In 1997 he began working for the City of Glyndon in the public works department. During this time he also served as the local animal control officer and spent 12 years on the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department. Terry loved to be out in the woods or on a lake; hunting and fishing were favorite pastimes. He also loved to spend time with his extended family and was never happier than when he was smoking salmon or barbequing turkey legs for a family campout. He was outspoken, loyal to his friends, and generous to a fault.

Terry is survived by his mother Ethel, wife Shelley, children Ricki (Danielle) Cummings and Randall Cummings, grandchildren Natalia Cummings and Javen Cummings, sister Denise Vilas, and sisters-in-law Cindy Hatfield and Rebecca (Glen) Meints. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Cummings, step-father Robert Cullen, and parents-in-law Harlan and Beatrice Hatfield.

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 8, at 3:00 PM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Final resting place will be in Hawley Cemetery at a later date.
