Violet M. Mortenson
May 6, 1923 — August 4, 2015
Violet M. Mortenson, 92, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, in Eventide Senior Living, Moorhead. Violet was born in Derrick, ND, to Ivar and Mae Ruud. Following her education, she enjoyed her career as an elementary music teacher in Moorhead. She married Wilbur Mortenson in 1954 and together they made their home in Moorhead. Over the years, Violet enjoyed her involvement in several area music groups, and was active in church and other various organizations.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, and sister-in-law, Ellen Mortenson.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur, parents and siblings.
A memorial gathering will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 8, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
