Virginia Ingebretsen

Virginia Ingebretsen, 77, Moorhead, MN, died January 7, 2022, at Bethany on University in Fargo.

Virginia was born March 11, 1944, in Laredo, TX, to Refugio and Maria (Flores) Garcia.  She grew up and attended school in Laredo and later moved to Minnesota to begin working at Ingebretsen Farms, where she met the love of her life, Harold Ingebretsen.  They were married on October 20, 1963 on the family farm.  Virginia worked in the fields and raised their children until later going to work in the mid 1980’s as a custodian for the Moorhead School District, where she worked for over 20 years.

She loved Mexican music, dancing, finding treasures at rummage sales, and attending the children’s sporting events. Her true love revolved around family and she shared her wonderful cooking, especially tamales, at family gatherings and “Sunday soup.”

Virginia is survived by her children, Linda (Eugene Kosmicki) Ingebretsen, Grand Island, NE, Martin (Sheri) Ingebretsen, Detroit Lakes, MN and Rachel (Jerry) Maier, Moorhead; sister, Janie, TX and grandchildren, Amber and Eric Ingebretsen, Nolan and Riley Maier, and Henry and Charlie Kosmicki. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; brother, Gilbert, and grandsons, Ryan Ingebretsen and Jared Maier.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. followed by the memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.
