Virginia Stoutland

Virginia Stoutland, 81, Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND, died there on Saturday, January 7, 2005, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Virginia Howe was born on January 8, 1924, in Kenmere, ND, to George and Louise Boetcher Howe. She grew up and attended school in Fargo, ND, graduating from Fargo Central High School. She went to work for Western Union, where she spent thirty-eight years; first as an operator during WWII, then as a customer service representative and finally as a bookkeeper. Virginia married John O. Stoutland on August 26, 1944, in Fargo, ND. John died on December 29, 2005, in Bethany Homes, in Fargo. Virginia had been a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.She is survived by her son, John A. "Jack" Anna Stoutland, Coral Springs, FL; daughter, Judy Aafedt, Detroit Lakes, MN; a sister, Dorothy Kermit Gronland, Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Ali and Dylan Aafedt, Josh Stoutland, and Veronica Prosser; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Anthony Stoutland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Raymond, and a sister, Lillian.
