Young Park

Young Ok (Im) Park, 77, of Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 15, 2023. She was born on March 20, 1946, in Korea to Won Bin Im and Jung Sook Park. She was the oldest of three children. On May 26, 1969, she married Kang Soo Park. To fulfill their dreams of providing a better life for their family, they immigrated to America with their three children in the 1970’s. While successfully starting multiple businesses in the Washington, D.C. area, they later added a fourth child to their flourishing family. Even with the diverse responsibilities as an entrepreneur, she was a committed wife and mother and was a constant source of strength.

In 1996, she suffered a debilitating stroke that left her with partial paralysis. However, this did not deter her from living a productive life. Bolstered by her faith in God and paired with her husband's tender care, she faced life’s challenges fearlessly and developed many skills and interests that displayed her strength and tenacity. In the early 2000's, she and her husband moved to Chicago to be closer to their children. After 52 years of dedicated marriage, her husband passed away in 2022, and she moved to Moorhead to live with her daughter. Young was a dedicated Christian and enjoyed serving her Lord faithfully until her death. Young especially enjoyed spending time and hearing from her beloved children and grandchildren.

Young is survived by a sister, Young Ae Im; a brother, Joong Kuk Im; children, Yoon (John) Roloson, Chin Park, Jae (Maria) Park, and Samuel (Maria) Park; grandchildren, Stephanie (Charlie) Stratton, Hannah Roloson, Heather Roloson, John Jr. (Rebekah) Roloson, Julie Roloson, YeongSu Park, David Park, Daniel Park, Abigail Park, Julianne Park, Samuel Jaeden Park, and Emily Park, and great-grandchildren, Evalynn Roloson and Rose Stratton.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 4:00 PM at Wright Funeral Home, 605 2 Ave S, Moorhead, MN 56560, and will be preceded by a viewing beginning at 3:00 PM and followed by a meal at the funeral home.
