Carol L. Langlie

Carol Langlie, 87, Glyndon, MN, died on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at home under the care of family and Ethos Hospice.

Carol was born on May 12, 1933, in Elmwood Township, Clay County, MN, to Lawrence and Alice (Tollefson) Erstad. She grew up and attended a one room country school in Elmwood Township. The schoolhouse has since been moved to Rollag, MN, where people can get a glimpse of history each year at the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion.

Carol married Eugene “Gene” Langlie on November 26, 1949 in Glyndon, MN. They made their home near Glyndon and started a family. Over the years, Carol stayed very busy while raising 13 children and helping of their farm. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, baking and was a wonderful cook. But most of all she loved spending time with her family. Carol will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Laura Lee (Steve) Handegaard of Dalton, MN, Kevin (Lola) of Glyndon, MN, Kent of Glyndon, MN, Mark (Chan) of Hawley, MN, Eric (Lauri) of Glyndon, MN, Peter (Alma) of Mesa, AZ, Adam of West Fargo, ND, Phillip (Sandy) of West Fargo, ND, Sara (Brian) Shepard of Audubon, MN; son-in-law, Casey Prunty of Mesa, AZ; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; brother, Larry (Nancy) Erstad; brothers-in-law, Bob Hillier and Charles Girten; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; parents, Lawrence and Alice; daughter, Mona Prunty; sons, Tim, Joe and Jon; and siblings, Donald Erstad, Betty Anderson, Margaret Anders and Phyllis Girten.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, October 22, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

A private family service will be held at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, and the service will be online for viewing on Friday afternoon.

All are welcome to attend the graveside service on Friday, October 23, at 12:30 p.m., at Riverside Cemetery in Glyndon, MN.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
