Jerain L. ’Jiggs’ Anderson

Jerain "Jiggs" Anderson, 66, West Fargo, ND, died on Wednesday, February 17th, 2010, in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN.Jerain was born in Detroit Lakes, MN, on November 24, 1943, to Leslie and Evelyn Eide Anderson. He grew up and attended school in Hitterdal, was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church there and graduated from Hitterdal High School in 1961. He married Patricia Busby on July 29, 1967, in Salem Lutheran in Hitterdal. Jiggs owned and operated Jigg's Café in Hitterdal from 1971 until 1988. He then owned and operated Jigg's Homestyle Restaurant in West Fargo from 1988 until 2007. He also owned Jerain's Grocery in Hitterdal for a number of years. Jiggs was a straightforward, honest man who quietly spoke his mind and firmly believed a man's word and handshake was sufficient. Behind that often inscrutable demeanor hid keen observational skills and insights into human nature that frequently amused and entertained him. Jiggs thoroughly enjoyed a good round of golf. One of his greatest joys in his life was his grandsons, Spencer and Tyler. Jiggs is survived by his wife, Patricia, West Fargo, ND; son, Josh Anderson, Fargo, ND; daughter, Jennifer Chad Weisgram, Fargo, ND; sister, Virginia Russell Erickson, Sebeka, MN; two grandchildren, Spencer and Tyler; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
