Larry Lovold

March 19, 1944 — June 11, 2020

Larry Lovold of The Villages, Florida passed away at the age of 76 peacefully in North Branch, Minnesota the morning of June 11, 2020.

Larry Harlan Lovold was born on March 19, 1944 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Leslie and Hazel (Anderson) Lovold of Lake Park, Minnesota.  Larry was raised on the family farm south of Lake Park and later moved into town.  He attended school in Lake Park and graduated high school in 1962.  After high school Larry attended Moorhead State University and worked part time at Silverline Boats.  Later Silverline Boats employed Larry as a full-time sales representative in Massachusetts, Ohio, and then back to Minnesota.  In 1977 Larry was transferred to the Lund Boat Company as their Sales Manager.  Larry later became President of Lund Boat Company and retired in 2006.

On September 26, 1964, Larry was united in marriage to Cherryl Globstad and they resided in Moorhead.  Later they moved to the Big Cormorant Lake area where they raised their three sons Curt, Jeff, and Ryan.

Larry was an avid outdoors enthusiast.  Activities he enjoyed included fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, motorcycling, ATV riding, shooting, golfing, downhill skiing, and a few car shows.  Many of these activities helped Larry excel in his career because he lived the life of the customer.  He truly enjoyed these activities with his three sons, as well as his many friends and co-workers who were like family.  Larry also loved spending time using his tractor at the hunting camp north of Bemidji to enhance the hunting experience for family and some of his closest friends.

Larry was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Cherryl of The Villages, FL; sons Curt (Kristi) Lovold of Monticello, MN; Jeff (Janine) Lovold of Roseau, MN; Ryan (Gretchen Ruby) Lovold of North Branch, MN; grandchildren Hannah and Kevin; his sister Cathie (Al) Glaeseman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Hazel and his sister Christie (Denny) Herbranson.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a prayer service starting at 7:00, at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley.   A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 19 at 2:00 P.M., with a visitation one hour before, at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley.
