Lilah J. Rehder

Lilah J. Rehder passed on to be with her loving husband of 71 years on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

Lilah June Johnson was born June 8, 1924 to John A. and Pauline (Paulseth) Johnson on the family Farm near Hickson, ND.  This is where she grew up and graduated from Comstock High School.

She married Ralph Rehder August 22, 1942.  They farmed near Comstock, MN, and remained on the farm after retirement.

Lilah was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin, MN, where she was active in the lady’s organizations and taught Sunday School and Bible class.  She volunteered at Eventide Nursing Home fixing hair and serving in the cafeteria.  Lilah was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was active as a leader of the Alliance Busy Bees 4-H Club for many years.

Lilah loved music and sang her first solo “Jesus Loves Me” when she was just three years old.  She had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir and for funerals and weddings.

Lilah is survived by her three sons, Ross, Barnesville, MN, Curtis (Judy) Sabin, MN, Douglas (Nina), Billings, MT; seven grandchildren, Jay (Jennifer), Moorhead, MN, Aaron, Barnesville, MN, Paul (Kathy), Moorhead, MN, Kristoffer (Katie), Banks, OR, Benjamin, Phoenix, AZ, Carmen (Jack), Spokane, WA, Kristen, Fargo, ND, and 10 great-grandchildren, Gage, Hannah, Jason, Nate, Chloe, Sebastian, Claire, Frederick, Annamarie Lilah and Hayden.

Lilah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; daughter-in-law, Cheryl; four brothers, Jennings, Ernie, Earl and Wilbur “Billy” and two sisters, Esther Mercer and Pearl Nelson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made out to the Hemnes Cemetery in North Dakota.

Visitation: Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin, MN.

Funeral: Monday, February 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin, MN.

Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sabin, MN.
