Marla Jean Hendrickson

Marla Jean Hendrickson, 52, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 in her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Marla was born on October 6, 1965 to Ray and Donna (Olofson) Hendrickson in Cooperstown, ND. In 1970, Marla and her family moved to Ada, MN where she attended Special Education at Ada Public Schools and received her Honorary High School Diploma in 1985.

Marla moved to Moorhead, MN in 1985, working at numerous places such as the Radisson Hotel, Ramada Inn, Sun Mart, Integrity Windows, Gem Motor Cars, and many other businesses who enhanced the community by employing individuals with special needs.

There were many things that were important to Marla. Family, however, was of primary importance. She loved being with and interacting with her family, especially her cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her favorite family event was the 4^th of July parade in Sheyenne, ND. She had an amazing faith in God and thoroughly enjoyed attending Sunday church services. She was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. Marla had a strong work ethic and was very diligent at whatever job she was performing. She had a never-ending love for people, had the ability to make others better through their interactions with her, touching the lives of all she encountered.

Marla is survived by her mother, Donna (Robert Carlson) Hendrickson; brothers, Gary (Gail Risovi) Hendrickson, and Jay (Georgia) Hendrickson; niece, Skyler Hendrickson; nephews, Cole and Wyatt Hendrickson; aunts and uncles, Leonard (Joyce) Olofson, Dorothy Ochsner, Jerry (Dottie) Olofson, and Marjean (Jim) Woodrow; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Ray, and her grandparents.

Visitation: Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM with a prayer service at 4:00 PM at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN.

Funeral Service: Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN.

Burial will take place at a later date in the spring at Grandfield Lutheran Church Cemetery in Sheyenne, ND.

The family would like to recognize the extraordinary people who worked with and provided care for Marla throughout her lifetime.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Creative Care for Reaching Independence (C.C.R.I.), Hospice of the Red River Valley, or to a designation of your choice.
