Valery D. Hudson

Valery Doris (Wirth) Hudson, 89, Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, November 17, 2018, in her home.

Valery Doris (Wirth) Hudson was born July 11, 1929, at Munich, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Michael and Martha (Janowski) Wirth and the second youngest of twelve children. She attended grade school and graduated from Munich High School and went on to attend Everett Junior College in Everett, Washington.

She was united in marriage to Harold Hudson, July 31, 1950, in Munich, North Dakota. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2003. They lived in the Fargo/Moorhead area most of their lives. Valery and Harold raised three children. Today, she is survived by two sons, Michael (Sherry) Hudson of Buckeye, West Virginia; Wayne (Debbie) Hudson of Goodyear, Arizona and one daughter, Michele (Dan) Bogan of Eatonton, Georgia; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Travis) Hacker, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Bogan, David (Ashley) Bogan, Tiffany Hudson, Nathan Hudson and two step granddaughters B.J. (Jamie) Gago and Danielle (Matt) Berg; five great grandsons, Huxley Berg, Damion Berg, Brock Hacker, Adrian Bogan and Brady Bogan; three great granddaughters, Avery Hacker, Finley Bogan and Charlotte Bogan. She greatly enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by four sisters Geraldine (Wirth) Tholkes, Madeline (Wirth) Hoffmann, Martha Rose (Wirth) Henderson, Lois (Wirth) Dawley and one brother, Norman Wirth, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Loretta (Wirth) Hiltner, Beatrice (Wirth) Houghton, Francis Wirth and brothers Victor Wirth and Lester Wirth.

Valery was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1953; while a member there, she was also very active with Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Christian Mother Society. Her strong faith and dedication to her church showed in her many hours of volunteer work. Her other activities included golfing, playing cards and gardening.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 28 from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. in Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN.

The funeral will be on Thursday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moorhead, MN, with luncheon immediately following the service.

Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
