Photos and Personal Items

There are many ways we can display beloved family photos during a service. Our state-of-the-art audio and visual technology allows you to use a projector to display a single picture or a slideshow. Photographs can also be included in the program or on keepsakes. Our beautiful custom printing templates can incorporate photos into the memorial programs also. Or take advantage of our large supply of tables, easels, frames, dress forms, and other display items to create a memorable display.

Music

We can provide live or pre-recorded music that enhances the service and provides a moving addition. Some families ask us to create a playlist with their loved one’s favorite music. Many choose to take advantage of our connections to great live musicians that we can arrange to perform for the service.

Readings of Poetry & Literature

Passages from your loved one’s favorite books or poems that capture the essence of life can infuse a service with wisdom and comfort. Many times, friends or family members will present them for an added personal touch. Attendees can also share their memories by writing them down in a book or on notecards to be collected and read aloud during the service.

Videos

A tribute video is a wonderful way to use technology to tell your loved one’s story – and our team will do all the work for you. All you have to do is provide us with about 50 to 100 photos. We provide this service completely free of any charge, and the tribute video can be ready within hours of receiving the photos from you. They’re hosted on our website at no charge as well, so you can share them with family and friends around the globe.

Our state-of-the-art technology allows you to display the tribute video on a large projection screen, so all can see it at the same time. It always moves us to see how they can fill the room with joyful memories. If you’d prefer, we can bring our portable projection equipment to your church. We also provide you with a DVD copy in a professionally designed case, as well as providing you with the video file and all your scanned and cropped photos on a flash drive.

We were actually the first to introduce tribute videos to the Red River Valley in 2003. Since then, we have created thousands of them for our families.

Customized Funeral Programs

A program handed to friends and family as they enter the service provides an easy opportunity to personalize a service. Use the program to display words of wisdom, photographs, and/or memories of the deceased.

We have over 500 templates, allowing us to custom design almost any theme in a bifold or trifold folder. With our in-house printing, you can choose to include 5 or 6 of your favorite photographs to help tell a story.

Keepsakes and Memorial Items

Items such as prayer cards, candles, seed packets, and other ornaments can be distributed to service attendees. These often become beloved personal keepsakes.

Bagpipes

Bagpipe music has roots in traditional Irish and Scottish funerals but has also become traditional for funerals for firefighters and police officers. Today, bagpipes can be a feature in any service, playing beloved tunes such as “Amazing Grace” or “Danny Boy.” Their solemn notes add a sense of gravity to the moment.

Receptions

Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Services has observed time and again how gathering with friends and family after a loss can bring healing and hope, as you reminisce, share memories, and of course, show hospitality to those who have traveled to your loved one’s service.

We have also observed how difficult it can be for a bereaved family to make plans for an off-site reception, book a room for a large group at a restaurant, or plan something at their home. That’s why we offer to handle all these details for you. Whether you’re looking to serve an elegant luncheon for up to 170 people, or a small gathering with coffee and pastries, we can manage everything. Our services also include food presentation, set up, and clean up.

Some families even choose to have the service itself in our gathering space. A unique and contemporary approach to a funeral, we can arrange chairs or more comfortable furniture in the room, with catering off to the side on our beautiful granite island, and a lectern and microphone for speakers.

Let us manage the details, so you don’t have to.

Customizable Caskets

Many of today’s caskets are easily customized, with interchangeable corners, medallions, reversible interiors, custom cap panels, picture holders and more.

Artwork

If your loved one was an artist, or if an artist created a work in their memory, displaying it at the service can be a beautiful personal touch. We have displayed sculptures, a slideshow of drawings, paintings and more throughout our funeral home.

Special Clothing

A simple, but powerful, way to make a service more personal is by dressing the deceased in clothes that were significant to their life. If your grandmother was a nurse for decades, you may display her nursing uniforms throughout the years. Or, maybe your brother was a huge fan of the Twins or the Vikings. You might consider dressing him in his favorite player’s jersey for the viewing and burial.

The Urn Itself

We have encouraged families, if this interests them, to use vessels that have meaning in their loved one’s lives as the urn holding the cremated remains. As a result, we’ve used all sorts of things for urns, such as tackle boxes, cookie jars, toolboxes, sewing boxes, etc.
